Tip and Tricks

Make a bottle-shaped candle fast!

The candlelight gives a touch of warmth, even to the coldest of the environments of your home. But it does not always have to be small or blend candle. They exist in all kinds of color, shape, and aroma. If you can not find what you are looking for in a store and you are in the mood to make your own candle in your favorite color, you should definitely do this design.

You will need:

  • Cardboard
  • Candle wax
  • 1 wick
  • Wide ribbon
  • 1 glass bottle (preferably not rounded)
  • Hot glue
  • Silicone
  • 2 sticks of barbecue (or Japanese food)
  • 1 bottle wine stopper

How to make:

First, you will have to assemble a cardboard box. The bottle you chose has to fit into it later. Lay the 4 sides of the bottle on a piece of cardboard and draw large rectangles around them, making sure to leave a little more space left around the bottle. Then cut out the rectangles.

Then paste the cardboard rectangles with a ribbon to create a miniature box.

Now cut out a square of the cardboard that is left. In the next step, cap the bottle with the stopper and add a little hot glue on top. The bottle should now be placed upside down in the middle of the square. Hold it in place for a few seconds until it dries and it will not overturn.

Then place the box you made on top of the bottle and fasten the bottom of the cardboard with hot glue.

Then take your silicone and shake it a bit to get more fluid.

Mix the silicone in a plastic container. Observe the mixing portions indicated on the carton by the manufacturer.

Then pour the silicone to the edge of your small box, where the bottle is positioned upside down.

Let the mixture rest for about 6 hours, or until it solidifies.

Next, cut the tape that is holding the carton pasting with a knife and remove the cardboard cover. What remains is the silicone block. Now, try to remove the bottle from the inside of the block carefully, cutting silicone with a knife. Do not cut straight. Make a “zig-zag” cut, this way it will be harder for the wax to escape from the mold later.

Once you can remove the bottle, put some strips of tape around the silicone block to help the wax stay in the mold. Then, heat the wax in a pan until it becomes liquid. Place the wick in the silicone vial. It is best if you use the two sticks to position it in a way that it is out in the middle of the candle afterward. Add the liquid wax.

Leave the candle on until the next day and remove the silicone with your hands.

And then, your bottle-shaped candle is finished.

If you want your candles to have a good perfume, just add a few cents to the wax – like lemon juice or aromatic oils. This is how you make a super different candle for your home!
